The Northwest Clinical Research Center is an independent research site dedicated to providing the highest quality medical research and care to our patients. We are proud to have provided medical, psychiatric, and psychological services to the community through our partnership with the pharmaceutical industry since 1995. We take exceptional pride in the care of our patients as well as integrity in the data provided to our sponsors. Research sponsored by NWCRC has been published in the best of medical journals and presented at national and international scientific meetings.

Each patient receives psychological assessments and health evaluations by our medical staff. Our specialty is psychiatry and the treatment of mood disorders. Arif Khan, M.D., Medical Director and Principal Investigator at the Center, is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Khan has published more than 150 scientific papers. He serves as a reviewer for such journals as The Archives of General Psychiatry, The American Journal of Psychiatry, and Biological Psychiatry. He was extensively involved in research leading to the development of medications such as Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Wellbutrin, Effexor, Serzone, Remeron, Celexa, Buspar, Zyprexa, Risperdal, Seroquel, Lexapro, Cymbalta, and Abilify. He continues an active research career and presents his work at national and international scientific meetings.

Your voluntary participation in a clinical trial provides invaluable medical information for yourself and to many others. Without volunteers, medical research in America cannot progress. No new treatments could be discovered and evaluated, no proper safety testing would be possible, nor could you be assured of the effectiveness of current and future medical treatments. If you wish to participate in a trial, specially qualified physicians, counselors, and psychologists will evaluate your situation and decide if any of the clinical trials are appropriate and/or useful to you or the community by your participation. All of this is provided for you at no cost.

NWCRC has participated in clinical trials for the development and assessment of efficacy and safety for over 30 medications that have gone to market.

NWCRC is located in the heart of Bellevue, Washington. At our center we offer outpatient facilities and our inpatient facility partner is located nearby in Kirkland, Washington. We are easily accessible to Seattle and entire Greater Puget Sound area (over 3.5 million people). In addition, we have a transportation service (four drivers and vehicles) available full time to transport our patients between their homes and our center. Conveniently, we are located near the freeway, have a public bus stop in front of our building, and plenty of free parking.
